Connor Miller, co-founder of ArdentX, has come a long way from his troubled past. Miller became a heroin addict at just 17 years old after getting injured and receiving painkillers. This led him down a dark path of addiction, loss, and homelessness. Fortunately, Miller turned his life around and became a successful entrepreneur.
After spending four years chasing the high, Miller lost everything, including his dreams and relationships. He was arrested five times and went to six different rehabs. However, in 2015, Miller got clean and started working in the transportation industry with his father.
In 2018, Miller co-founded ArdentX and grew it from $30 million to $130 million in annual revenue. His goal was to make a direct impact on people’s lives through hiring and mentorship. He wanted to create more opportunities for others, which is why he focused on growing the company.
Miller’s story is inspiring and serves as a reminder that with hard work and determination, anything is possible. He shares his story to inspire others to take control of their lives, no matter what obstacles they may face.
Starting a business comes with its challenges, and Miller understands that. He advises those trying to start their own business to have patience, be prepared to put in the work, and take action. He also stresses the importance of mindset, seeing problems as opportunities, and resilience.
Miller’s long-term goal is to open a school that offers math and science as electives and teaches financial education, communication, and soft skills as core curriculum. This is just one of the many projects he has in the works, as he aims to expand ArdentX’s Brokerage and Asset division and ramp up the warehousing side of the business in 2021.
Differentiating himself from the competition by focusing on customer experience, respecting office staff, customers, and drivers, and investing in people, Miller takes risks to support his customers and covers difficult freight that other carriers and brokers don’t want.
For Miller, success isn’t defined monetarily. It is about each individual person’s level of happiness in life. He credits his wife Grace for supporting him through everything and being his rock, even at his lowest moments. Keep up with Miller’s journey by following his Instagram, @realconnormiller.
